Speak Up

Make Your Voice Heard

As Democrats we believe that a well-run democratic government, accountable to its citizens, can be a force for good in the world and help improve the lives of everyone in our community. We are fortunate to have inherited this representative democracy and grateful for the sacrifices of our forefathers and mothers who fought to build, preserve, and improve our system over the centuries. We owe it them and to those who will come after us to engage and to speak up for what we believe in. Our town, our state, and our nation grow stronger with every call made to a member of congress, every vote freely cast, and every raised hand at Town Meeting.

If there is an issue you care about, speak up.
Your voice can make a difference, but only if you use it.

Engage with your town government

The best way to make your voice heard in town is to attend any of the numerous board and committee meetings that are open to the public. Please see the town website at www.easthaddam.org for details.

The Select Board of East Haddam is made up of First Selectman Irene Haines (R), Eric Dill (R), and Theresa Govert (D). The First Selectman can be contacted at admin@easthaddam.org
